2. Debate (n, v) - A formal discussion on a particular topic in a public meeting or legislative assembly, in which opposing arguments are put forward.
Ex. There has been very little public debate about teenager's rights in the classroom.
3. Confer (v) - Grant or bestow
Ex. In court, Frank leaned over and conferred with his attorney about a statement the witness said.
